Complex Medical Conditions

Request an appointment

Patients who suffer from complex medical conditions and diseases require additional medical attention and care prior to receiving their dental treatments.

Examples are:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Dementia
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis,

As Prosthodontists we have advanced education, training, and experience to work closely with medical providers throughout the patients’ dental treatment. This insures the optimal oral health for the patient without compromising their existing medical condition.

It is also important to note that Xerostomia, better known as dry mouth, can be detrimental towards the prevention of caries (cavities) as well as the optimal denture success.  Dryness can be a result of a systemic syndrome or related to medications used for treatments of other systemic disorders.

Patients who experience consistent dry mouth or any other questionable symptoms are recommended to contact their medical physician or our team for a consultation.
